On February 7, 2025, ProtiumTech celebrated a major milestone at TechChill Riga, where we walked away with four awards in the prestigious Fifty Founders Battle.
This year’s competition was open exclusively to startups from the Baltic states – Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. Out of 167 applicants, ProtiumTech was selected among the 50 semi-finalists who pitched on Day 1. Later, we were honored to be named among the top 10 finalists, standing out as one of the most promising startups in the region.
Awards Received:
Scholarship to Draper University in Silicon Valley
€60,000 investment from Beamline Accelerator
€100,000 investment from Depo Ventures
One year of credentials from Typewiser
Alens Martīni, CEO and co-founder of ProtiumTech, shared:
“The start-up journey is full of ups and downs, and sometimes you need these victories to keep motivation at the highest level. This is huge for us – it’s our very first recognition as a start-up, and to receive four awards at once makes it even more special.”
Alens also brought some humor and energy to the finals. He revealed a T-shirt reading “My last year being broke” as the first award was announced.
“That morning, I was at the shopping centre and I saw this T-shirt. My first thought was – this is perfect for finals. If I hadn’t won anything, I would have just kept it hidden,” Alens laughs. Asked whether the words on the shirt have already come true, he replies: “Definitely not.”
