ProtiumTech Selected for Fundación Repsol’s Fondo de Emprendedores Program securing 120k convertible loan!
ProtiumTech is proud to announce its selection as one of the five startups chosen for the 14th edition of Fundación Repsol’s Fondo de Emprendedores, a highly competitive acceleration program that supports breakthrough solutions for the energy transition.
On September 18, our CEO Alens Martīni traveled to Madrid, Spain, to participate in the welcome event hosted by Fundación Repsol. This marks the beginning of a collaboration that will help us bring our technology closer to industrial scale.
Selection process included multiple phases – from the initial application and technical evaluations to a detailed due diligence review with expert panels, and finally, our pitch in front of the Repsol committee. Each step tested our technology, our business model, and our vision for the role of hydrogen in the global energy transition.
Emerging successfully from this process gives us not only funding and access to world-class infrastructure but also strong external validation that what we are building is both technically robust and commercially relevant.
Together with Repsol, we have set clear and ambitious goals for the coming year:
- Scale our technology 10×, reaching 50kW membrane free, decoupled water electrolysis system,
- Access to mentors,
- Opportunity for a pilot deployment to validate our technology.
It will allow us to demonstrate at scale how we can cut hydrogen production costs, addressing one of the toughest challenges in the energy sector.

In this call, nearly 200 applications from around the world were evaluated. ProtiumTech joins Nanochronia (Spain), Neuron Soundware (Czech Republic), Parallel Carbon (UK), and Werover (UK) in this cohort.
